Raina Rose
Raina Rose was born on the day the music died. She sings songs of long travels, stay-behinds, time that plays tricks and governments that play tricks. Raina's solo debut "Despite the Crushing Weight of Gravity" which came out in August of 2005 and was produced by Jim Brunberg at Mississippi Studios in Portland, OR, has been called an indiefolk masterpeice. Raina is currently working on her sophomore effort, tentatively titled "The Prophet The Panhandler and The Moon" and due out in late September 2006 on Three Pin Productions which is a 1% for the planet company, and Raina's own Persephonic Records.

Please visit Raina's website or myspace page for more information.

"Her voice is clear and sweet, recalling at times Suzanne Vega or Dirty Martini's McKinley, and even -- when she opts for a slip-and-slide sort of phrasing popular with young female folkies these days -- Ani DiFranco. She is most compelling when she gets serious, as in the ruminative See You Singing, on which her multitracked vocals create a haunting effect, or the dark literary vignette Back Alley Butcher.... Suffice to say, this moth has taken wing."

"If a bottle of champagne could sing, it would sound a lot like Raina Rose: positively effervescent, sparkling with youthful enthusiasm-she's a joy!"
-Tracy Grammer

“Light, flighty, and airy folk rock with an indie pop twist is what encompasses Raina Rose’s latest album. She adds a slight twang to her guitar and poignant lyrics. Her rich history of musicianship helps; after all she started strumming on a classical steel string guitar at the tender age of eleven. Vocally she’s vibrant and sweet. Raina Rose is a great musician.“
